Unemployment is rising again in February – Reuters

PARIS (Reuters) – The number of asylum employment is rising again in February in France, after his fall in January, according to figures released Wednesday by the Ministry of Labour.

The number of job seekers Class A (no activity) increased by 0.4% France, or 12,800 people, bringing the total to 3,494,400.

Adding categories B and C (people who exercised reduced activity), the number of registered at employment center rose 0.6%, or 30,400 people, reaching a total of 5,262,500 persons, a new record and even 5,561,000 including the French overseas territories.

In January, the number of job seekers in category A declined by 19,100 in France, 0.5%, which was the first decline since August.

On a year to late February, the number of Class A applicants was up 4.6% and categories A , B and C of 6.5%.

By tranche of age, the only decrease was recorded in less than 25 years in category A, with a decline of 0.3% over the month (+ 0.1% yoy).

In the same category, the number of participants aged 25 to 49 increased by 0.4% ( + 4.1% yoy) and that of 50 years and more than 0.7% (+ 9.1% over a year).

All age groups are progressing into categories A, B and C: 0.2% for less than 25 years (+ 3.0% one year), 0.6% for 25-49 years (+ 6.2% yoy) and 0.8% for 50 years or more (+ 9.9% yoy).

The increase in the number of registered unemployed for over a year at employment center, qualified of long-term unemployed, continued with growth of 0.8% in February and 9.5% year over year. More …
