Political reactions to criticism of Montebourg and Hamon on … – Release

This is the first political reactions to criticisms against the government’s economic policy set out in quick succession by ministers Arnaud Montebourg (Economics) on Saturday in Le Monde, and Benoît Hamon (Education), Sunday in the Paris

– Christian Paul, MP PS Nièvre and “rebellious”. “They are in government that we have been engaged for several months in Parliament: they put on the best policy questions and as we bring solutions since last spring. We are talking about a + emergency + Montebourg and plan a shock + +: there is obviously a community analysis, proposals that can converge.

Please note, this is not a socialist but socialist-European debate: even across the Atlantic we are surprised to see how France and Europe lead to restrictive policies that are not out of the recession. Do not bring it to an internal debate with socialists. It is high time that the European debate to take place. I am pleased that we have opened a breach in April and I am pleased that this debate is taking place within the government: it is the means for a democracy under siege by the markets and through a serious and lasting crisis to get by. ” (Statement to AFP)

– Roger Karoutchi, UMP Senator of Hauts-de-Seine: “Beyond any political significance, there is a true malfunction of the Republic: Government is the one who makes the daily lives of French so when there are as antagonistic positions in government, it’s all that French toast! Francois Hollande, and Manuel Valls are responsible for the unity and effectiveness of their policy: how can they have within the government are people who say that the policy is a disaster?

ay now two solutions: either the ministers in absolute contradiction with the line resign and join the rebellious – that’s the logic of the system of the Fifth Republic; or you do not follow this logic and that means that the president and the prime minister, already weakened, is totally discredited and can not speak on behalf of an executive also divided. What happens here is very serious. This is the first time a minister said totally opposed to economic policy while being in charge and remains in government. This is unheard of in the fifth. You can continue to discredit the Republic, it is no longer that close, but stop at the fire! “(Statement to AFP)

– Christophe Caresche, PS deputy of Paris:” We can not talk of austerity: the president has ensured that reduction policy deficits in our country is not done in a brutal manner. ” (France Info)

– Nicolas Dupont-Aignan Debout The Republic Arnaud Montebourg is “the Economy Minister of a government that does exactly the criticism that political: it takes a while Mr. Montebourg stops taking French for fools. ” (France Info)
